As skaters progress into higher levels, they will become eligible for additional specialty classes within each level grouping.
TECHNICAL: This class focuses on jump development drills and technical skills for jump consistency and achievement. The skills listed in each athlete's accelerated curriculum will be practiced and tested in this class.
SPIN DEVELOPMENT: This class focuses on the step by step development of spins, spin levels and positioning. The skills listed in each athlete's accelerated curriculum will be practiced and tested in this class.
EDGE SEMINAR: Skaters learn how to develop their edge control for intricate footwork, executing turns and twizzles, and building a stronger foundation to their overall skating skills.
POWER: Through agility and coordination drills, skaters enhance their speed, power, strength and endurance.
OFF-ICE JUMPS: This session encourages skaters to develop their coordination and jump technique off-ice through use of equipment, balance drills, body alignment assessments and strength-building exercises.
OFF-ICE STRENGTH/CORE: Skaters will strengthen and tone a variety of muscle groups through off-ice exercises to improve their on-ice performance and physical development.
OFF-ICE STRETCH/RECOVERY: Towards the end of a strenuous training week, it is important for skaters to properly stretch their muscles, execute rehabilitation exercises and assist in healthy recovery practices to prevent injuries and prepare for future training.
